The name Hawaii means a lot to a lot of people, but fewer believe so then those that call the big island home. There is also a thriving diving area around the island. Thousands come to the island every year to dive in the crystal clear water and enjoy the marine life all around. Cultural Diversity
While the island remains largely native, there is a large population of northern countries as well as some of the farther overseas areas as well. During the late 1960's there was a movement by the Orientals to make their home there and the people are still thriving to this day.

While the water sports are the main activities on the island, many of the people would prefer some of the historical activities as well. On any given day there are festivals and such that commemorate the culture and history of this beautiful land.
